xv. Towel

August 5, 2011

I gave it up,
I passed on it,
I threw in the towel.

She shed a tear,
She hit the floor,
She gave a solemn howl.

I walked away,
I left it dying,
I told her I was done.

She couldn’t move,
She wouldn’t accept it,
She wouldn’t let me run.

Our time was over,
Our day was through,
Our number had come up.

We ended there,
We let love die,
We said enough’s enough.

v. Enough

March 9, 2011

I’ve never been much good with words and stuff.
I love you and I hope that it’s enough.

I may not understand your sentiments,
And can’t pay you poetic compliments;
I may not act all that romantically,
But I’m in love with you immeasurably.

I love you, that’s the best that I can say;
I love you in my own imperfect way.
